Photographer Web Landing Page

TWENTY20

Product Overview

The Twenty20 website is a stock photo marketplace for its subscription users. It is also where photographers who either do not have an iOS device or prefer web-based experiences will access Twenty20’s photographer features such as uploading photos and participating in photo challenges.

The Problem

For too long the website was heavily customer-focused and offered a generally poor experience for photographers.

Project Goals

  • Improve the overall photographer web user experience

  • Increase the visibility of photographer-based features and minimize the focus on customer-based features for anyone who accesses the website as a photographer

  • Create a seamless and easy to use dashboard where a photographer can access all of the features available to them on the web

My Process

  • Identified user pain points on the web through a survey that gathered 200+ responses

  • Reorganized the site’s information architecture so that it makes sense for both photographers and customers to use

  • Explored different design concepts in the form of wireframes based on project goals

  • Obtained feedback on prototyped designs through usability testing in the form of 4 user interviews

Solution

  • Create a separate landing page for photographers that houses all of the photographer-based features

  • Visually prioritize the features that photographers access most

  • Include links to help center, app store download, and a place to give feedback

Impact

  • Obtained positive qualitative feedback from photographers who primarily use the web

  • Data showed a statistically significant increase in web usage among photographers, particularly in upload activity & challenge entries

Summary

We created a separate web experience for photographers from customers by designing a photographer-only landing page. Design decisions were based on user research in the form of surveys and user interviews. The results were successful and indicated a positive change in the overall user experience for the web-based photographers.
